Best Friend Friday #1: Antonio Dedić
This post is the beginning of a project I've been planning on for a while. I call it "Best Friend Friday" (yeah, I know the name is pretty lame but the alliteration is quite nice). Essentially, each Friday, I'll write a post about one of my friends, just giving them a personalized shoutout and showing all of the readers of this blog how awesome they are. Let's hope this works out.
This first post is going to be about on of the coolest people I've met in my brief time at Bingham High School so far. His name is Antonio Dedić.
Antonio is a foreign exchange student at Bingham this year. He's Croatian, but his family lives in Germany. He is super cool. I met Toni in my technology class this year, where we partnered up and we've become pretty good friends. I really enjoy learning from him. He has a lot of perspective that I find really cool, because he has grown up in such a different way than I have. Toni speaks Croatian, English, German, a decent amount of French, and a little bit of Spanish. So I mean that's pretty cool on its own.
Antonio has taught me a lot about life. For instance, peanut butter is only an American thing. Who knew? I joke, but one of the things I have loved most about becoming friends with him is how different our perspectives are and how much he's opened my eyes to the different lives we ben given. He was raised across the world, which means we've grown up pretty differently. And I like that. I'm probably really annoying, but I always ask him things like what his favorite thing is about the United States or what he misses most from Germany. It's just really fun for me to hear him talk about things like that because he has experienced so many things that I never have. And I think that's really cool.
Honestly, the coolest thing about our friendship is that it almost didn't happen. Basically, on one of the first few days of school, our technology teacher told us to partner up with someone else in the room. I hadn't been at Bingham very long, and I didn't know very many people. I didn't want to get stuck with someone, so I turned to Toni (he was sitting next to me), and I said (in probably the lamest way possible) "Hey, you wanna be my partner?" Not knowing anyone else either, he agreed. And We've had a pretty good time since.

Toni and I share a lot of common interests. We both really like technology, and we are both pretty big fans of Apple (Toni has an iPhone, an iPad mini, an Apple Watch, and a Macbook Air - Spoiled, right? Just kidding, love you Toni). We also both really like soccer (although I'm sure my teams are better than his).
And we also share a love for photography, as you can see here. We were able to use some pretty nice cameras in this class about a week ago. We've had the chance to do a lot of sweet stuff in this class, but I think becoming friends is probably the sweetest thing of all.
To you, Pepperoni Toni. You're the coolest.
Hey also I think it would be super cool if you followed Toni on Instagram.
